Client portal software: one private page per client.
Give each client a branded portal for onboarding checklists, work to approve, shared logins and messages with your team. They sign in with an email link, so there are no passwords and no seats to pay for.
Free plan, no card needed. Or book a demo.
One portal per client, set up in minutes.
Pick the client and their company, name the portal and link their projects. Add your logo, your brand colour and a welcome message, then invite the client when you are ready.
- Link one or more projects; nothing shows until you share it
- Your brand colour is kept readable on buttons, with your logo and welcome note
- Live or Paused: nobody can sign in to a paused portal
Onboarding, launches and handovers as checklists.
Start a checklist from a template or from scratch. Each item says who does it, the client or your team, and what they do: book a time, upload files, answer a question, share a link or share a login.
- Templates for new client onboarding, offboarding and handover, a website launch and a social campaign launch
- Due dates, optional items and Team only checklists the client never sees
- Save any checklist as your own template for the next client
Logins shared safely, not pasted into WhatsApp.
When a checklist asks for a login, the client adds it to the portal's access vault. It is encrypted before it is saved, only named people can see it, and every view is logged.
- Only the account lead, account managers and workspace admins can reveal a login on your side
- The client who shared it, and their client admin, can see it too; your team's own logins can be Team only
- At handover, keep the logins or delete them from the vault
Deliverables and approvals that don't get lost in email.
List the deliverables and milestones for each client with a due date and a status, from Planned to Approved. Share work for approval and the client approves it in their portal or asks for changes with a comment. A reminder nudges them on the schedule you set.
- Link each deliverable to a document, a file, a page or any web address
- Switch on approvals and a shared task cannot be marked done until the client says yes
- Every approval and change request in the Activity log
Talk to the client in one thread, not five apps.
Each portal has a General thread plus one for every linked project, with files attached. Portal messages also come into your Inbox, so the team can reply from there.
- Internal notes and Discuss internally keep team talk away from the client
- Assign a thread to a teammate and search every message
- Clients get one email about new messages, and a reply to it lands in the thread
Show exactly what the client needs. Nothing more.
Tick the parts of the portal each client sees and put them in order. Share items one by one from Shared items, or show everything in the linked projects that you mark client-visible.
- Parts include projects, milestones, deliverables, files you share, documents, contracts, invoices, approvals, checklists, access and Book a call
- Clients send requests; each one becomes a task in the project that they can follow
- Choose which projects each portal covers, and change it at any time
No passwords. No seats. Clear roles on both sides.
Invite someone by email and they get a one-time sign-in link. They do not need a startbuddi account and they never take one of your seats. Give each person a role, and decide who on your team works with each client.
- Client roles: Client admin, Approver, Member, Billing contact and Signer
- Your team per client: Account lead, Account manager, Contributor or Viewer
- See who is online, who was invited and when they last visited
See the portal the way your client does.
The Overview shows each project's progress, what is waiting on the client, unpaid invoices and when the client last visited. View as client opens a read-only preview, and Open portal takes you to the live one.
- Check the portal before you send the first invite
- Activity log of invites, shares, approvals, finished items and login views
- Switch between portals from the header
