Sales

Find them, write to them, win them. Same afternoon.

Sales is where new business happens in startbuddi: Chip finds people who fit, sequences write to them from your own mailbox, replies land in one inbox, and the interested ones become deals. Your customers stay in Customers, on the same records.

Start free

Start with the one thing you need. The rest is there when you're ready. Free plan, no card needed. Or book a demo.

Today

Open Sales, see who needs you. That is the whole morning routine.

The Sales overview starts with what is true right now: replies waiting, outreach tasks due, the next meeting, deals closing soonest, and saved prospects nobody has written to yet. Each line has one button that does the next thing.

  • Replies waiting, people in sequences, emails sent this week, open deals
  • A mailbox that stopped sending shows up first, with a Fix button
  • A six-step checklist gets your first sequence going

Sales overview: the week in numbers, and Next actions with one button each.

Find

Describe your customer. Chip goes and finds them.

Type "dental clinics in Lagos with 5 to 20 staff" and Chip plans the search, runs it on the web, and brings back people and companies with a reason and a source for each. Save a customer profile once and every prospect gets a fit score against it.

  • Strong, Moderate or Partial match, with the page it came from
  • Work emails are found, never guessed, and checked
  • Searches run from Starter and use Chip credits
How Prospecting works

Saved prospects from one search, with why Chip picked each person and their email status.

Reach

Sequences that stop the moment someone answers.

Write a few emails, or let Chip draft them from a sentence, and send them from your own Gmail, Google Workspace or SMTP mailbox. Add calls, LinkedIn messages and emails you send yourself as tasks. A reply, a booking or an opt-out ends it for that person, always.

  • Steps: email, wait, condition, manual email, call and LinkedIn task
  • New mailboxes start at 30 emails a day and rise slowly
  • Someone already in a sequence is never added to it twice
How outreach works

A sequence: two emails, a wait, a condition on clicks, a call and a LinkedIn task, with its end rules.

Reply

One thread per person. Email, WhatsApp, texts and calls.

The Sales inbox puts everything you sent someone, everything they said and every task for them on one timeline. Answer by email in the same thread, switch to WhatsApp or a text, or call them from your browser.

  • Replies, Sent and Tasks views
  • Replies sorted as Interested, Not now, Out of office and more
  • Kept apart from your customer inbox, on the same contact
The Sales inbox

The Sales inbox: a sequence email, the reply, and a draft answer from the Chip SDR.

Win

Interested becomes a deal. Then a forecast you can believe.

An Interested reply opens a deal for you. Deals sit on the same board Customers uses, with everyone involved on them, and the Forecast tab shows what is likely to land and when, one currency at a time.

  • Add the other people on a deal, not just one contact
  • Expected, Commit and Best case on the Forecast tab
  • Set what counts as a sales win and track it against a target
Deals and pipeline

Deals: the board, with a deal that came straight from a sequence reply.

Chip SDR

A sales rep that works every hour and asks before it sends.

Switch on the Chip SDR and point it at your customer profile and a sequence. Every hour it finds a few new people, checks their emails, adds them to the sequence, drafts answers to replies and opens deals for interested people. Drafts wait in your Sales inbox until you send them.

  • Off until you switch it on; drafts replies by default
  • Up to the number of new people a day you set (10 to start)
  • Everything it did is listed, and it spends credits the way you would

Questions about Sales

How is Sales different from Customers?
They share one contact list. Sales is for winning new business: prospects, sequences, replies, deals and meetings. Customers is for looking after the people who already buy from you: their conversations, records and website chat.
Does it send from my own email address?
Yes. Sequences send from a Gmail, Google Workspace or SMTP mailbox you connect, so replies come back to you. startbuddi reads the replies so a sequence can stop the moment someone answers.
Will it spam people?
Not if we can help it. New mailboxes start at 30 emails a day and rise by 5 a week, never above 100. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and a mailbox pauses itself if bounces or complaints climb.
Can I use it on the Free plan?
Yes. Free runs one sequence from one mailbox, with the Sales inbox, deals and meetings. Prospecting searches need Starter or above.
Does Chip send emails without asking?
Not unless you tell it to. Anything that sends or spends shows a preview first. The Chip SDR drafts answers for you to send; you can set it to answer Interested replies on its own.
Can Chip make calls for me?
Not for everyone yet. You can write Chip call scripts in Sales settings, but Chip only calls once Chip calls are switched on for your account. Calls you make yourself work from the browser once you verify a number.
Can I bring my leads from another tool?
Yes, by CSV. Import a list into Prospecting or into your contacts. There are no direct connections to other CRMs or sales tools yet.
