Quote / Estimate Template
A free, editable Word document built for service businesses sending a quick price quote for a defined scope — not a generic all-purpose template.
Not every job needs a full proposal — sometimes a client just wants a number. A quote or estimate is a short document: what’s included, what it costs, and how long the price is valid for.
This template covers the essentials — line items, subtotal, tax, and a validity window — without the narrative sections a full proposal needs.
This template is provided for general informational purposes and does not constitute legal, financial, or HR advice. Have it reviewed by a qualified professional before using it with a real client or employee.

What is the difference between a quote and an estimate?
A quote is typically a fixed price for a defined scope. An estimate is an approximation that may change once the full scope is known. Label the document accordingly so the client’s expectations match.
How long should a quote stay valid?
30 days is common for most service work, since costs and availability can shift. State it explicitly so an old quote can't be used to hold you to outdated pricing.
