Privacy Policy

Last updated 30 June 2026

In plain English
We collect only what we need to run startbuddi. We never sell your data, and we never use your private workspace content to train public AI models. You can export or delete your data anytime.

This Privacy Policy explains what information startbuddi (“startbuddi”, “we”, “us”) collects, why we collect it, and the choices you have. It applies to our websites, apps and the startbuddi workspace (the “Service”). By using the Service you agree to this policy.

Who we are

startbuddi provides an all-in-one workspace for service businesses, including CRM, projects, booking, invoicing, payments, messaging and the Chip AI assistant. For the purposes of data-protection law we act as a data controller for our own account and marketing data, and as a data processor for the content you store in your workspace.

Information we collect

  • Account data — your name, email, business name, phone number and password when you create an account.
  • Workspace content — the contacts, deals, projects, messages, files and other data you and your team add to the Service.
  • Billing data — plan, billing country and transaction records. Card details are handled directly by our payment processors and are never stored on our servers.
  • Usage data — log data, device and browser information, and how you interact with the Service, used to keep it secure and improve it.

How we use information

  • To provide, secure and maintain the Service.
  • To process payments and send service and billing notifications.
  • To provide support and respond to your requests.
  • To improve features and develop new ones.
  • To send product updates and marketing where you have consented — you can opt out at any time.

Chip AI and your data

Chip AI processes your workspace content only to perform the actions you ask of it inside your account. We do not use your private workspace content to train public or third-party AI models. AI features may be powered by trusted sub-processors under contractual confidentiality and security terms.

Payments

We use Paystack and Stripe to process payments. When you pay, your card data goes directly to the processor under their own security and privacy terms. We receive only the information needed to confirm and reconcile the transaction.

Sharing and sub-processors

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with sub-processors that help us run the Service — such as hosting, payments, email and analytics providers — under contracts that require them to protect it. We may disclose data where required by law.

International transfers

We operate globally and may process data in countries other than your own. Where we transfer personal data across borders, we use appropriate safeguards consistent with applicable data-protection law.

Security

We protect your data with encryption in transit, access controls, and regular security reviews. No system is perfectly secure, but we work hard to keep your information safe and to notify you promptly of any incident that affects you.

Data retention

We keep account and workspace data for as long as your account is active. When you close your account we delete or anonymise your data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain records to meet legal or accounting obligations.

Your rights

  • Access, correct or delete your personal data.
  • Export your workspace data at any time.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing, and withdraw consent.
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

Children

The Service is intended for businesses and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy from time to time and will post the new version here with a revised date. Questions or requests? Email privacy@startbuddi.com.
