The challenge
Johan Consults serves clients in Nigeria, the UK, and the UAE across organizational design, operational strategy, and leadership development. The practice was profitable, but the back office was fragmented. Billing happened in multiple currencies through different processes, and cash visibility was weak.
Administrative effort was taking time away from billable consulting and making it harder to see the real state of the business week to week.
The solution
The consultancy moved CRM, invoicing, and payment follow-up into startbuddi. Client records now live in one place regardless of whether the client is billed in NGN, GBP, or AED. Stripe and Paystack support the different collection flows, while Chip AI produces a weekly view of revenue, overdue invoices, and renewals.
The same workspace also powers the firm’s monthly leadership newsletter to past and current clients.
The result
Financial admin time fell by 75 percent. The firm recovered GBP 28,000 in outstanding invoices during the first six months through automated payment chasing. The newsletter also generated four new consulting engagements in its first year.
The part-time admin role was reoriented into a higher-value client success function instead of repetitive back-office work.
